Windhill Wanderers are a 5-a-side team that play in the Goals Bradford Thursday Super League Division 2, this is there first season as a 5-a-side team but the squad are still confident of putting up a fight for promotion.

The team came about as a result of the Windhill recreation grounds, which is where the team met each other and played matches together during the spring and summer of 2006. The lads wanted to test there quality against some other competition and play as a team instead of just friendlys between themselves and so Windhill Wanderers FC was born. They entered the Thursday Super League Division 2 at Goals and needed to arrange some friendly games before the new season started.

There first match was against Rawdon Soft during July 2006 with Windhill coming out on top, 10-6 winners. Windhill went on to beat Rawdon six more times before moving on to hopefully play some tougher opposition. They played two more friendlys against a young side from Wrose at Low Ash playing fields, these two games proved to be even more one sided with Windhill winning 9-2 and 15-1. They then had to play two grading games to test the teams ability before entering the league and won both games 15-7 and 11-9 respectively.

Windhill have now finished there first season in Division 2 (Sep - Dec 06)and have faired very well, gaining promotion to Division 1 as runners up. In what turned out to be a roller coaster season, having only collected 1 point from the previous 2 games, promotion did not look to be on the cards as Windhill trailed second placed Ring O'Bells by 1 point. But Windhill went on an astonishing end of season run winning there last 5 games and scoring 67 goals in the process including a legendary 12-7 victory over rivals Ring O'bells and a final day 24-0 drubbing of Craig Booth.
