Windhill Wanderers are a 5-a-side team that play in the Goals Bradford Thursday Super League Division 2, this is there first season as a 5-a-side team but the squad are still confident of putting up a fight for promotion.

The team came about as a result of the Windhill recreation grounds, which is where the team met each other and played matches together during the spring and summer of 2006. The lads wanted to test there quality against some other competition and play as a team instead of just friendlys between themselves and so Windhill Wanderers FC was born. They entered the Thursday Super League Division 2 at Goals and needed to arrange some friendly games before the new season started.

There first match was against Rawdon Soft during July 2006 with Windhill coming out on top, 10-6 winners. Windhill went on to beat Rawdon six more times before moving on to hopefully play some tougher opposition. They played two more friendlys against a young side from Wrose at Low Ash playing fields, these two games proved to be even more one sided with Windhill winning 9-2 and 15-1. They then had to play two grading games to test the teams ability before entering the league and won both games 15-7 and 11-9 respectively.

Windhill have now finished there first season in Division 2 (Sep - Dec 06)and have faired very well, gaining promotion to Division 1 as runners up. In what turned out to be a roller coaster season, having only collected 1 point from the previous 2 games, promotion did not look to be on the cards as Windhill trailed second placed Ring O'Bells by 1 point. But Windhill went on an astonishing end of season run winning there last 5 games and scoring 67 goals in the process including a legendary 12-7 victory over rivals Ring O'bells and a final day 24-0 drubbing of Craig Booth.

Windhill v Wrose Rangers Nov 07

Windhill continued their recent good form in an extraordinary game with Wrose Rangers, which saw Windhill fight back from 6-1 down to claim a point.

Wrose took the lead but were soon pegged back by Windhill only to score 5 consecutive goals to go 6-1 up. However, Windhill heads did not drop, pulling the game back to 6-5 before a goal a piece from each team took it to 7-6 to Wrose.

Chris Saville added to his two earlier goals with a late hatrick to put Windhill 10-9 up before being seriously injured by a horror tackle, the lads were unable to hold on to the victory and had to settle for a 10-10 draw.

This result leaves them in 2nd place and now only two points off top place after Inter Course’s defeat to Nabwood.

Breaking News: Defender Cameron Rooke formally of Flower Power United has been released from his Windhill Wanderers contract after countless disapearing acts and general missuse of the clubs facilitys, after yet again being found entering the end of the clubs vacuum cleaner the management team had no choice but to act swiftly, a spokesman for the club read out this statement "Firstly we would like to thank cameron for his efforts for the team over the past three seasons. Unfortunatley during his time with the club his on-field efforts were overshadowed by his off-field exploits and incompetance in his short stint as club salesman. We wish him luck for the remainder of his career and like to think he would feel he has had his best years in football at Windhill with him hitting his peak whilst with the club, the cleaning lady would also like to thankyou for cleaning out the vacuum cleaner although she did think it was strange that you did it with your penis"

Windhill again managed the great escape by beating the drop for the second season running and sending down last seasons 3rd placed team Bucaramaranga. After a season blighted by injurys and suspensions a full Windhill side finished off the season in style with an impressive 15-8 victory over there relegated rivals. This put Windhill on 18 points for the season and 7 clear of safety and only 1 point off the top half, this season has to be considered another sucess under the circumstances but next season will prove another tought task as another two strong teams will be promoted and Windhill will have it all to do to maintain there top flight status, but the lads are also aiming to bridge the gap between the top and bottom half as soon, of course, as safety is confirmed. Next week see's another player serving suspension as Chris Saville has been summoned to a spanish court in Barcelona in connection with having some involvment with a spanish pimping service and it has been rumoured he was the official prostitue tester before each girl can hit the streets, hopefully his name will be cleared and he can resume training in a weeks time.

Windhill Wanderers came away with three points tonight after a triumphant match against Street Elite which ended with a nail biting scoreline of 9-7. The lads put in a superb display, Scorers were Jack Halliday x1, Chris Saville x4, Craig Hogan x4.

Tonight's line up against Street Elite leaves out Rob Ward after recent events. Aaron Stoney, Matthew Marshall, Jack Halliday, Jonathon Fawcett, Cameron Rooke, Craig Hogan and Chris Saville.

Breaking news entered the Windhill changing room after training today as Wanderes midfielder Rovert Ward became a free agent as of 9am this moring after a disagreement with the manager Chris Saville. Rob Ward stated 'I have got all i can from Windhill and the lads have being great but i think it's time that i turn a fresh leaf and pursue a new challenge'.

Windhill came away with no points this Thursday after losing 9-4 to the newly promoted team Ring O'bells. Windhill went 2-0 up but loss of concentration and some bad decisions from th ref the team came away dis-heartened but ready for the next game. Windhill kicked off the new season in tremendous fashion recording a 10-8 victory over Rawdon Soft, Jack Halliday was the star of the show with a man of the match performance and a hatrick to boot! 3-0 down after 10 minutes Windhill went into halftime 5-4 in the lead but then with 10 minutes left were 7-6 down but 4 quick fire goals won the match for Windhill in a solid never say die performance from the whole squad. Goalscorers were Craig Hogan 4, Jack Halliday 3, Chris Saville 2 & Matthew Marshall 1.

The team will look at this first season in division one as a great success after achieving the goal of maintaining there status in the division and doing it in style finishing a huge thirteen points above the drop zone, but the toughest task is still ahead, two stronger teams have replaced the two relegated teams to make the league the strongest it has been so far, there will be no easy games next season so first and foremost the goal is to retain our top tier status. Everybody knows the second season is the hardest so the Windhill boys need to be at the top of there game from the off, starting with the home game with newcomers Rawdon Soft this thursday evening.

In the final game of the season Windhill ended up on the end of a 12-4 defeat to U.V.F.C, Windhill started well with early goals coming from Jack Halliday and Craig Hogan but heads dropped and the absence of Aaron Stoney and Rob Ward showed. Scorers were Jack Halliday x1, Craig Hogan x1 and Chris Saville x2.

Victory for Windhill Wanderers. Windhill overcame second in the league tonight to gain three point due to a 9-7 scoreline! Scorers were Jack Halliday x3, Matthew Marshall x1, Ben Fawcett x 1, Chris Saville x 2 and Craig Hogan x 2.

Breaking News: Robert Ward (Windhill Midfielder) was addmitted to Rehab this morning after being found lying on the floor in his hotel bathroom before tonight match against second in the league. Rumours of a cocaine overdose have being leaked to the press but we can confirm that Mr Ward has a Viagra addiction. He is out for the rest of the season but will be ready for pre-season friendlys.

Windhill's match tonight has being cancelled due to the champions of the second division last season dropping out of the league! Windhill will recieve a 10-0 win thanks to the Hurricanes departure.

The Windhill squad trained for 3 hours last night at Goals Soccer centre and talent was looking strong in the starting 8. Players names from the youth acedamy have been released to the tabloids as replacments for current players. The Windhill board would like to clear up that Adam Flaxington from the up and coming youth academy wil not be replacing the current unreliable centre back Cameron Rooke. Thank you.

Windhill showed their fighting spirit with an 18-6 vistory over bottom club AFC Pulse. Leading at the end of the first half made keeper Aaron Stoney want a peice of the action so Matthew Marshall took hold of the rains as sub keeper. Goals came from Aaron Stoney x1, Jack Halliday x3, Chris Saville x6, Craig Hogan x4 and Rob Ward x4. The scoreline could have reached into the 20's if Jonathon Fawcett wasn't such a cock in front of goal. Man of the match was leading goalscorer Chris Saville.

Windhill suffered there first defeat in 5 matches as they were just edged out 8-6 by Bucaramaranga, Windhill did enough to deserve at least a point but were undone by some bad luck with an early own goal and the slippy service diseaving man of the match Aaron Stoney.

This is the news every Windhill supporter has been waiting for since the start of the season: Johnny B has vowed to change his boxers if Windhill can finish in the top 2 this season, his current pair were "fresh on" at the start of this season after gaining promotion last season resulted in an early change but Johnny is adamant in changing again altho it will mean he only gets 14 weeks use out of them.

Friday 02/02: This Sunday Windhill compete in there first Champions of Champions Cup, in which all teams from Bradford which have either won or finished runner up in there respective league are entered into. Thursday 01/02: Windhill amazingly continue to defy the odds with another stunning victory against last seasons division one runners up Right Touch FC. Aaron Stoney was the Windhill man of the match as he made a string of fine saves but it was another great Windhill team performance as the Division 1 underdogs again used there fighting spirit and never say die attitude to claim an 11-6 win.

Thursday 25/01: Windhill recorded there best ever result tonight with a stunning 9-5 victory over last seasons Division 2 champions Hurricanes. Hurricanes were unbeaton in 17 matches and had a 100% record against Windhill, but the form book was turned on its head as Windhill put in a fine performance which also cements there place in the top half.

Thursday 18/10: Windhill earned there first win of the season with a heart filled 12-5 victory over Ginger Ventus. Despite some very dispuitable decisions by the referee Windhill won in style and have now climbed from bottom of the league into the top half with four points from the last two games.

Thursday 11/01: Windhill earned their first point of the season but will be dissapointed not to have taken all three after coming back from 4-1 down to lead 8-4 at half time but ended up drawing 11-11 with Street Elite.

Monday 08/01: Windhill slip from there club high ranking of 6th to 13th in the Bradford 5-a-side rankings and 149th to 327th in the national 5-a-side rankings after 9-4 defeat to division one champions The Bean Heads.

Saturday 06/01: At the end of the first gameweek Chris Saville heads the Fantasy League with 230 points closely followed by Whitney on 220 and Jack on 210.

Thursday 04/01: Windhill fought bravely tonight but were undone by a very good Bean Heads team, Windhill found it tough to keep up with there opponents fast passing play but still gave 100% until the final whistle but finished on the losing end of a 9-4 scoreline.

Thursday 21/12: A good 5-1 win for Windhill tonight which left them in 2nd place and needing only one more victory to propel them into division one. The game was overshaddowed by an early injury to star defender Cameron Rooke, who had to be taken to hospital with a suspected torn anal passage.

Friday 01/12: A brilliant and brave performance from Windhill moved them into the promotion places after a 12-7 victory over rivals Ring O'Bells. After recovering from an injury scare Chris Saville scored 7 of the teams goals to lead them to victory, another performance of note was from Windhill stopper Aaron Stoney who made a string of world class saves to keep Ring O'Bells at bay.

Thursday 30/11: This morning the entire population of Windhill blew a sigh of relief as Chris Saville passed a fitness test and is therefore available to play in tonights crunch encounter with Ring O'Bells, the winners of this game will be strong favourites for promotion. Monday 27/11: The unthinkable has happened, leading goalscorer Chris Saville yesterday picked up a groin injury and is rated very doubtful for Thursday's titanic clash with fellow promotion rivals Ring O'Bells.

Thurdsay 23/11: Windhill pushed The Hurricanes further then any other team before but just ending up on the wrong side of a 6-5 scoreline.

Tuesday 21/11: Windhill now sit second in Division 2 behind this weeks opponents Hurricanes who will be defending a 100% record and are the only team to ever beat Windhill in there history.

Friday 03/11: Last night Windhill finally played something near to the best of there abilitys with an Arsenal style passing game that ripped apart Rawdon Soft, only some fine keeping kept the score down as the Wanderers cruised to an 8-2 victory.

Thursday 05/10: Its second against third in tonights big match at Goals as Windhill Wanderers take on Ben Astin. Should be a cracker in store for the supporters, so get your tickets early to avoid dissapointment.

Wednesday 04/10: Instead of training on Tuesday 03/10, Windhill played a friendly game against a team from Wrose, Windhill yet again showed there class with a dominant display resulting in an 11-3 victory.

Monday 02/10: First team given two days off full training to prepare for Ben Astin game Thursday 05/10. Anybody interested, light training at Wrose fields Tuesday 03/10, will include passing, shooting and goalkeeper practise.

Sunday 01/10: A further training session has been arranged for Monday 2nd October 6.30pm at Goals in preparation for Ben Astin game which should be our toughest test so far, everyone to attend.

Saturday 30/09: Training Sunday 1st October 7pm at Goals, everyone to attend.

Thursday 28/09: Windhill Wanderers put in a slugish display but still came out convincing winners on as they beat The Marsh 9-3, Windhill now sit 2nd in the league on goal differance.
